OVERVIEW
Lyftly is a mental wellness app that is primarily used by high-school and college students. It contains a variety of features to help users monitor and express their feelings such as mood tracking, journal entries, and anonymous peer support. Recently, a coaching feature was added to the app.
SOLUTION
The coaching user interface was designed within a small team, and was made to appear cohesive with the rest of the app. Simple icons were created for each of the personal issues that the user could choose to focus on in their session, and illustrations were also created.
One of the app’s most popular features is its daily mood tracking, which allows the user to choose an emoji for their mood. Currently, the default Apple emojis were being used for this, so a set of custom emojis were created. They use the brand’s color and flat style, and the user can choose from a variety of hairstyles and accessories to customize it how they like.
